MISSION OF ROLE

As part of a dynamic and growing team, the Content Marketing Manager will have the opportunity to learn the ropes of residential community solar and project development marketing communications from the oldest community solar company in the nation! Through this role, you will bring SunShare’s brand and marketing campaigns to life through creating an engaging digital presence, performing marketing research, and assisting with internal and external presentations and RFP responses. You will support internal teams cross-functionally and also create and curate content for consumer-facing channels including online and offline advertising, social media, email, and mysunshare.com. You will learn from some of the best and most experienced in the industry, and have the opportunity to contribute to the fastest-growing segment of solar, and help make the world a cleaner, brighter place! 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Advise and implement marketing plans developed by the Sales and Marketing Director 
  • Research, design, and create content including blog posts, website content, email content, digital advertising, collateral, and press releases 
  • Create and execute regular engaging social media content, including video
  • Review and edit content produced by internal and external teams to ensure consistency and accuracy of brand voice and messaging
  • Develop and design presentations—primarily in PowerPoint—that advance key business objectives and tell the story through clean, concise, and well-organized slides
  • Whether preparing for a Board presentation, or assisting a department in developing slides for internal or external use, must be able to interpret concepts and translate them into easy-to-understand graphs, charts, and visual graphics
  • Develop and maintain customized templates and graphics to ensure a consistent “look and feel” for the brand
  • Draft press releases
  • Collect information from relevant stakeholders and assist with the aggregation, preparation, production, and submission of RFP responses
  • Incorporate good SEO practices with all content creation 
  • Website updates, including landing page creation and optimization
  • Content calendar creation
  • General support of sales and marketing teams including event coordination
  • Build and track benchmarks for measuring success and ROI

SPECIFIC REQUIRMENTS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Professional or academic experience in marketing, content writing, and/or public relations 
  • True passion to grow in a renewable-energy-marketing career path and a desire to learn 
  • Ability to work autonomously to achieve goals
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills 
  • Knowledge of SEO and social media best practices
  • Skills to prioritize tasks across multiple departments
  • Problem solver 
  • Understanding of how content and marketing work together 
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud
  • Inbound marketing and WordPress knowledge a major plus
  • Strong writing ability, critical thinking, and communication skills
