Expanded mission is a sign that the Colorado energy market is maturing with a focus on a clean energy future

Denver, Colorado – March 12, 2019 – The Colorado Solar Energy Industries Association (COSEIA) is expanding its mission to become the Colorado Solar and Storage Association (COSSA) today.

Customers across the state are demanding more from their solar generation. Large scale installations are installing storage to get more MWhs from their projects. Businesses are deploying batteries to take control of their energy costs and homeowners are adding them to ensure resilience against extreme weather events. Many of COSEIA’s members are the ones installing those new batteries.

Therefore, COSEIA is expanding our mission to include storage technologies.

“Like solar 15 years ago, the market opportunities for storage aren’t yet developed. Storage technology will need more advocacy to ensure Colorodans can take full advantage of all it offers,” said COSSA President and CEO Mike Kruger, “Combined with our continuing efforts to expand the solar market, we know these two technologies are the key to our clean energy future.”

COSSA is hosting its annual conference, Solar Power and Energy Storage Mountain West, on April 14-16, 2019 at the Hyatt Regency Aurora-Denver Conference Center. During the conference, attendees will have the opportunity to learn about the evolving policy landscape and market opportunities across the Mountain West. Governor Polis will offer the keynote address.
