JeffCo2 solar garden of cecGolden, CO – Business and sustainability leaders from the Jefferson County cities of Lakewood, Arvada, and Golden will reveal on Friday, October 3rd at 11 am the many ways they are utilizing the sun to save residents money, and will also announce new plans to expand their efforts. You are invited to this free public event to learn all the ways Jeffco cities are helping citizens go solar.

Westminster. Lakewood, Arvada and Golden are all certified Solar Friendly Communities who have taken steps to make it faster, easier and more affordable for citizens to go solar. They have taken additional steps to increase the solar energy used by the city governments as well.

Tours of the solar thermal system that heats the Golden Community Center’s swimming pool will be available. .

Community-based solar is an alternative to putting systems on homes, but rooftop systems are also spreading fast in JeffCo. We’ll preview the Golden Solar Tour of Homes the next day, October 4. The self-guided tour starts at the American Mountaineering Center in Golden and includes a reception and green expo there from 4-8 p.m. with free refreshments.
